Courses & colleges

There are thousands of courses and many different colleges and universities. Two courses with similar names can be very different in content, timetable, location and cost – and in how well they fit your plans after you graduate.

We start with you: what you have studied before, what you enjoy, the work you want to do and how long you would like to stay. Then we put together a short list of options and explain the differences in plain English.

  • Courses that build on what you already know – or a fresh start in a new field
  • Providers in Sydney and other cities, on campus or blended
  • Honest information about workload, timetables and study modes
  • Help with the application and the documents you need

English courses

Better English opens doors – for further study, for work and for everyday life. General English, English for academic purposes and exam preparation courses each suit a different goal.

We help you work out which type of course you need, how it fits with your other plans and whether it can be combined with a pathway into VET or university. If a test score is part of your plan, we check what the course or visa you are aiming for currently asks for.

VET – certificates and diplomas

Vocational education and training (VET) is practical, career-focused study. Certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas cover areas such as business, IT, hospitality and cookery, community services, early childhood, construction and many more.

VET can be a step on its own or a pathway into a bachelor degree. We help you choose a registered provider and a course that makes sense for the career you want – not just the one that is easiest to enrol in.

Higher education

Bachelor and master degrees at universities and other higher education providers. Some students go straight into a degree; others use a diploma or foundation program as a pathway.

We help you compare programs, understand entry requirements and credit for previous study, and prepare a complete application. If your degree is linked to your plans after graduation, we look at that together from the start.

Rules change often. We check the current requirements for your situation before we give you advice – please don't rely on general information alone, including this page.
